EO Optical Enhance Contact Lenses

I have an eyesight of 175 Left and Right. This is relatively not high compared to some of my friends but when I take off my glasses or contact lenses I see the world as a blurry image. I've worn glasses since 2nd Year High School and I started wearing it simultaneously with contact lenses when I was in Fourth Year High School. I love wearing my glasses because of its low maintenance versus contact lenses however I do get the nerdy-geeky looks sometimes because of it. Of course I love wearing contact lenses as well! It makes me look prettier and my eyes brighter - this is probably the effect of the color. However, when I choose contact lenses, I always opt for the Brown shades. I wanted to buy a Dali Black contact lens but since it was unavailable, I bought a Dali Brown Contact Lens. This is a single color lens so it looks more natural.

I chose Dali Brown

Trying out different colors are tiresome however it's worth it and it's fun as well! What I like about EO Optical is that their lavatory is clean and they provide paper tissue and proper disposal bins. They also have a handwash and Lens solution available for use and of course a big mirror. I bought my lens at EO Optical SM Cagayan de Oro Branch.

My Sauflon solution

I've been using the Sauflon solution since I started wearing contact lenses and they come in three different bottle sizes. A smaller one, easy to bring, is also available in EO Optical branches.

[Food Review] Johnny Rockets Eastwood

Last weekend 2 July 2011 (Saturday) I went to Eastwood to watch the movie Transformers 3 in 3D. It was my boyfriend's treat so I happily went with him. After we bought the tickets, we spent time in timezone at the new Eastwood Mall and we found a super kawaii perikura picture machine which was only worth Php39. It's stationed outside the entrance of the arcade. Perikura pictures are famous in Japan and in fact when I went there a few years back, when I entered the arcade about 10 different perikura picture machines where there - each having its unique color scheme and design.

By the way, since the machine has a Bluetooth option - I had these pictures Bluetoothed to my phone. After our pictorial session we decided to eat dinner at Johnny Rockets. When we were seated, it was just about time for the crew to be dancing so I got a picture of the crew dancing.

dancing crew

Dancing is their gimmick to keep the customers entertained, well I was entertained. The place really looks nice because of the typical American style restaurant with old pictures of American art were designed in the walls. We ordered a chicken fingers meal with unlimited fries plus we also ordered unlimited soft-drinks. The glass for the soft-drinks was so cute and sexy. I liked their chicken fingers because it was chewy and delicious. It wasn't salty nor oily at all. that's why I enjoyed eating it. It was served hot so it took me some time before biting one since doing so would hurt my sensitive teeth.

It's an aye aye captain for my Johnny Rockets experience!

Giveaways Hunt June 2011

One of my coolest and probably weirdest (to some) hobby is online contest hunting. Well, I don't just hunt, I also join them as well. I love reading beauty blogs and fashion blogs and I have been following a lot of amazing bloggers lately especially when I opened up this blog. Seeing how fascinated I am to famous bloggers, I decided to open my own official blog site and viola I give you sweetandhappylife.blogspot.com! Some of the awesome giveaways that I have recently found are the following.

until July 1 by blogger thereafterish

Blogger thereafterish is having an awesome and lovely blog giveaway which I which I too would be doing on my blog's anniversary. See http://thereafterish.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/the-big-giveaway-bonanza-ends-1-july/ for the complete mechanics. There will be two winners in this giveaway and I hope I am one of them *giggles*. Good luck!

A Visit to Tony & Jackey Salon

Months ago my sister had her curly hair done at Tony & Jackey SM Cagayan de Oro Branch and I really liked her hair. They use a digital hair perm system suited for different types of curls. This June my sister decided to have her hair colored so we visited Tony & Jackey and since I tagged along with her she treated me to a free nail cleaning and color.

Modern and sophisticated interior design

What I love about Tony & Jackey aside from their good service is the aesthetics of their salon. The salon lighting is very good ang you have a modern feel of the place. Aside from the photo above, they also have soft couches and a TV that shows videos of various Tony & Jackey branches and services. They also have a two computers with internet free to use by customers or the company of a customer.

After the treatment

It’s a job well done for the Tony & Jackey hair stylist and assistants. Since I’ve mentioned earlier that I also had my nails done, I’ll be sharing my experience as well.  I decided to have French tips because I’ve always opt for full colored or nail art designs and it was my first time to try French tips and it actually looks really pretty and neat.

Glam Works Nose Pore Strips Product Review

I really like facial scrubs because they not only help rub off dead skin cells but they also help remove blackheads and whiteheads as well. White heads has been my problem ever since but I make sure to clean my nose well while washing my face. However, sometimes washing your face is not enough. Another option you can turn to is meeting a dermatologist for facial cleaning. It is a little painful but your face will really be clean afterwards. They prick all your pimples and also with the use of a sucking tube, they can remove the white heads and blackheads. Since facial treatment is a little expensive, you can resort to home remedies that you can perform.

An effective treatment is using nose strips. You can find a lot of brands for this, I’ve tried a few as well but of all the brands – that which I found very effective is the glam works Nose Pore Strips. Each box contains sealed 12 pieces of nose strips.

packs of nose strip

me using the product : self care time

It is very easy to use and here are the steps:
1.       Wash your  face
2.       Pat dry your face with a towel
3.       Apply nose strip on your nose
4.       Once applied, drop just enough water to soak the nose strip
5.       Allow to dry for 10-15 minutes
6.       Once completely dried, you may now remove the nose strip
7.       Wash face again to remove residues

It’s really nice to use this brand since it has a sweet mint scent when used. You can buy these glam works product at Watsons outlet in SM malls.

Breaking dawn Part 1 Movie Teaser

I am a reader and lover of the Twilight Saga. Seriously it's true! I finished reading all four (4) books when I was still in 1st year college (about two to three years ago?) and now I am on my fourth year in college. For your information, the first two books already has a movie version - Twilight and New Moon. The next book is Breaking Dawn and I am so happy that the movie is going to be divided into parts (finally! not just trying to squish the story in 1 book). The part 1 of Breaking Dawn is COMING SOON and I am so EXCITED to see it.The teaser video for the book can be seen below.

I actually think that in the book the wedding was in the Cullen's house but in the teaser it's in the forest.  want to read the book again to refresh all the thrills I felt. I am excited to see the movie soon!

Meeting blogger skysenshi.com

I won in skysenshi (Ms. Bea) blog giveaway as one of the consolation prizes of the followers of her website. I had a free dinner with her at Heaven & Eggs at Glorieta 4 and a beauty loot from the face shop - a cute jelly lip gloss and my favorite the face shop nail polish (bronze). Photos below are from the blogpost itself on http://www.skysenshi.com/2011/04/reader-focus-sheena-marie-flores.html .

hbc Black Gel Eyeliner product review

I love make-up but I’m more addicted to nail polishes! However, thanks to discovering gel eyeliners (my first one being hbc black gel eyeliner) , I’m back to loving make-up even more! (Though soon I’ll be making a Nail Polish Blog haha!) So, the photo above is my make-up during the Philippine Fashion week day I attended and of course I kept the make-up simple but the black gel eyeliner did the trick. It’s pretty simple and quick to do. I simply had to line my outer eye as usual and added a sexy tip for a cat's eye effect. The photo’s below are the close-up shot of my eyes during that night.

Side View Photo

Front View

The reason why I love this gel eyeliner is because it’s so easy to use plus it’s easy to shape up the line using the brush. If you create a mistake (like I did), it’s easy to remove the gel eyeliner or you can simply top it and redesign your cat's eye look since it’s just easy to glide with the brush. If you’re an amateur to using gel eyeliners, trying it with hbc gel eyeliner will be a good choice – the consistency of the gel is really good. You should try it out now and go to the nearest hbc outlet.

Enjoy using your own gel eyeliner! I really use mine, that’s for sure. For parties and special events it is fun to use gel eyeliners . However, you can use this is a daily beauty routine – I wanna try it out actually this June but I guess trying the brown gel eyeliner would create a softer look than the black.

My Philippine Fashion Week Experience

It was on the first week of May when I read in Kryz Uy’s blog the then upcoming Philippine Fashion week. She was having a ticket giveaway contest in her blog which was sponsored by Sony Vaio. Of course I joined the giveaway however I was not the winner. When the  Philipiine Fashion Week came, it was Thursday (May 12,2011) when I heard from my roommate that she will be attending the fashion show the next day at MOA. A friend of hers who is working for her On the Job training (OJT) in Loreal had tickets with her since it’s a privilege for the employees of L’oreal since they were a sponsor for the event.  The next day, I had an engineering math exam 1:30 – 3:00pm that afternoon so I woke up early in the morning. In the morning, my roommate shared to me the good news! Her friend, has extra tickets for the fashion show so I will be able to go with her in MOA. Since I recently acquired my fab Black Schutz, I decided to wear it to the event.

I went to the event with my roommates Ingrid and Weanne. Too bad Rona was nto with us because she was still working for her OJT in Accenture Eastwood that Friday. We were also with Ingrid’s  friend Randz Manucom who got Ingrid to be seated in the Media Partners Seat (Yes, she was not seated with us – too bad but she was in the second row and we were in the fourth).
Sony Media: Ingrid Salud

Special thanks to blogger and photographer Ingrid for asking her friend to give tickets to us for the event! Yehey! Free tickets with super awesome experience tied into it. Of course since it's a fashion show, I had my favorite design and a 2nd favorite design. See the photos below.

MyShoephoria Free Shoe Shopping Experience!

Got this pair of heels without spending a sing coin
My lovely Black Leather High Heeled Schutz

Last May 7, 2011 (Saturday) – I claimed my free pair of Schutz from Adora Greenbelt. I was one of the ten winners of the most liked myshoephoria accounts on www.myshoephoria.com. As an award to the top ten liked myshoephoria account users , each of us were give a free pair of shoes from the collection of shoes displayed in Adora. We had our MyShoephoria rendezvous at the Lusso Restaurant which was of course the treat of myshoepgoria team. I had an exciting time meeting bloggers like me but of course they have been blogging longer than I do. Also, I am very greatly honored to have met the founder of myshoephoria Miss Ann who was with us in our shoe shopping. See the video below for a sneak peak on our amazing shopping experience.

Honestly speaking , I was really conscious at first when I arrived at the Lusso Restaurant because when I arrived there were all seated there and I was asked the basic questions like what was my name, where do I study, how I came across myshoephoria and the like. It was fun conversing with Miss Ann and to my amazement here college undergraduate degree was B.S. Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) which is my current course in the Ateneo. I felt like the passionate girl inside me ignited with Passion because miss Ann really inspired me that if you dream it, if you desire it, if you really want it – no matter which college course you are in, you can be that girl you want if you work hard and put your heart into it. Since it was my first time to buy classy-sassy shoes I asked for help from miss Ann on how to pick the party shoes that would be suited for me and viola I found my ‘SOLE-mate’.

MyShoephoria Top 10 most liked Contest Winners

In the group picture above, in front of me is mom-blogger of http://fashionistafortunecookie.blogspot.com/ and she even brought her 8-month old baby with her – so cute! Seated at the end on the left side of the photo is founder of myshoephoria miss Ann.  Second from the end on the left side of the photo is blogger www.baubleandbeyond.onsugar.com. Trivia : she and her husband are both bloggers, cool eh? Now if you wanna see the lovely shoes we won, photos below are the 8 winners (including me) who were able to attend the Myshoephoria shopping, the other two winners were unable to attend because of work so their shoes were to be shipped to them. Trivia: I am the youngest winner and the only still-studying-in-college winner which was why I was a little intimidated because these amazing girls with me were already working but nonetheless I had fun!

Back-to-Back: 2 lovely pairs of heels and 2 sassy pairs of flats

We love it high heeled: four fabulous ladies who chose high heels

The 8 winners who claimed their prize in Adora

Let me end this post with another interesting trivia – the girl in the rightmost on the second by-four photos with the red heels is getting married this June and that lovely red heels is to be paired to her lovely wedding gown. MyShoephoria really made me feel like a princess.

Special thanks to MyShoephoria for the photos on this blog.

It sounds better with a boom

Being an engineering student, people usually have the bias that I am a super 'techy' person. I am to some extent but not-so compared to my other engineering friends. It's probably because I only buy what I need and only buy what I really want.

A long-time bucket list of what I want to buy for myself are two things : my very own camera and my very own speakers. I enjoy watching movies a lot with my laptop and even listen to songs while a study or rest with my laptop but for the audio, I only rely on my built-in laptop speaker and my earphones. The built-in speaker is good enough however its just 'good enough.' Using my earphones, on the other hand, is fairly well however it sores my outer ear over time. There is really no escape to my realization that my all-time-dream of having my own speakers is A MUST!

First, Let me show you my laptop - Benq Joybook Lite U121 Eco.

My laptop audio specs are as follows:

Built-in 2W speaker x2
Built-in Microphone x1
Soundsystem x 2 channels
 (1) Sound Blaster Pro Compatible
 (2) HD Audio
 (3) Noise Suppression & Echo Cancellation supported
 (4) SRS TruSurround HD™

Like what I've said, it's good enough but this is the price you pay for wanting a portable light-weight laptop. My battery life is actually pretty good - maximum of four hours. This is why my laptop is really my buddy especially that my engineering classes requires me to bring around a laptop for projects, programming, and simulation activities. However, a good speaker/s would surely help me with my video-watching and music-listening lifestyle.

I've recently discovered a really good speakers. It speakers br
ought to you by divoom (see http://www.divoom.com/). I think my soulmate as a lifestyle speaker is Divoom's "Divoom Divo Speakers."

Now, why is Divoom Divo my lifestyle soulmate? Well, it's because Divoom Divo offers a stylish combined with great performance. It's featured to have a 2.1 circuit design. Also, its coolest feature is (wait for it: *drum roll*) you can control the volume just by touching. Isn't amazing? Having this amazingly-fashionably-cool speaker, DIvoom Divo is going to make me a techy girl for sure!

Three Years and counting

It has been three years now that I've entered the Ateneo de Manila University and three years as well of dorm life as part of the Ateneo Resident Student Associations (ARSA). Now in our senior year (though I still have a super senior year), I'd like to introduce my dear roommates who have been my roommates for three and two years and counting.

Clockwise from upper left:

Hi! I'm Sheena Flores and I'm the sweetandhappylife blogger. I'm a B.S. Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) Student. Although I'm the 'chick-engineer' *wink wink*, being in the technology inclined profession -- I do love fashion, photography, and music. I'm an active student leader in school and I'm currently the Vice President for Special Projects of our home organization the Ateneo Electronics and Computer Engineering Society (AECES). You can check out our website at http://aecesonline.org

Meet Rona Palines. A B.S. Management major in Ateneo and my roommate for two years now and still  counting. She's had a great Junior Term Abroad (JTA) last year at Taiwan and brought home as pasalubong to us very cute necklaces. I go the butterfly one - so cute! She is a current officer of the Ateneo Student Catholic Action (AtSCA).

Meet Ingrid Salud! We call her 'Ingz' for short. She is a B.S. Communications Technology Management Major. She has been my roommate for two years now  however we have been classmates for four years in high school at Xavier University High School and we both belonged to the honors section. She is a photographer and she had her Junior Term abroad in the beautiful country of Korea last year.

Finally, meet Lawreanne Sanico! We call her by her nickname 'Weanne.' She's a B.S. Management of Applied Chemistry major. She was part of last year's Ateneo Student Leadership Assembly (ASLA) and is this years Loyola Mountaineers (LM) Organization President. She is an environmental lover and a girl who hikes mountains because she loves too! By the way, she has been my roommate since freshmen year which makes her my roommate for three years now and still counting.

All my roommates are having their On the Job Trainings (OJT) this summer while on the other hand. I'm still taking required subjects for summer since our OJT is scheduled summer next year. Also, all three of my roommates are on their final year in college except me since I have a super-senior year or fifth year in college. But, I'm definitely getting a copy of this year's yearbook since technically my batch-mates are the Ateneo batch 2012.

How about you my dear reader? Do you have roommates as well or the like that are ONE-OF-THE the awesome friends in the world?

Sweet Food Prize

Thanks to a dear blogger Dash of www.dashashash.com, I was one of the two lucky winners of a dozen of empire macarons. I claimed my prize at Mercato Centrale in Taguig on the Macaron's Day 2011 last March 20 where the Philippines was able to celebrate this event together with France and other macaron's selling countries thanks to the Empire Macarons who sponsored the giveaway.

Macaron's Day Poster | March 20, 2011  Mercato Centrale @ BGC

Of course, I would like to introduce the sponsor who sells this really awesome dessert - macarons! The Empire Macarons is the sole seller of macarons in the Philippines and on this special macarons day, they gave out macarons for free! Yes, you read it right - for free! Of course I was able to enjoy this special thanks to Dash of http://dashashash.com/ and the empire macarons for their giveaway.

It was so fun coming to the Mercato Centrale that weekend because I was with my two friends Ingrid Salud and Gillie Bagabuyo and my boyfriend Mikey de Guzman. We went around the three tents and sampled some awesome food. Pictures below are courtesy of my dear roommate and photographer friend Ingrid Salud.

Honestly, all the flavors are mouthwatering - I got to try a lot of flavors with my roommates since I won a dozen of macarons so I mixed a lot of flavors and we shared bites on each flavor. It was a delicious and sweet bonding moment!

This blog post was made as a sign of my gratitude for the ff:

Special thanks also to Ingrid's blog where I got the beautiful shots :
